Tau Beta Sigma - Delta Upsilon
Delta Upsilon of Tau Beta Sigma was chartered April 21st, 1971 by the Iota Chapter at Baylor University. In 1973, the chapter went inactive for six years due to financial reasons, but was reactivated on January 28th, 1979, the 33rd year of the Sorority. The members of Delta Upsilon became more involved at the District and National levels as the years progressed. The sisters received the Host Chapter Award for being one of the chapters to host National Convention in Corpus Christi, Texas (2001). In 2012, the chapter had 100% attendance at the Southwest District Convention in Houston, Texas, 100% attendance again in 2013 in Huntsville, Texas, and 100% attendance in 2014 in Waco, TX.
The members of Delta Upsilon have been recognized for their service and participation in the District, having received the Dorothy Allen Nichols Outstanding Chapter Award (2011 and 2014), the Outstanding Small Chapter Award (2013, 2015), the Buddy Chapter Program Award (received jointly with Delta Tau in 2011) and the Janet West Miller Outstanding Service to Music Award (2012). In addition, the chapter won the Best Scrapbook Award (2012), and was awarded for being the most spirited chapter (2012). The Delta Upsilon chapter strives to encompass the five purposes and eight ideals of Tau Beta Sigma through their service and Christ-centered focus. We are proud to be a part of the Southwest District of Tau Beta Sigma, where we all work together as one to promote greater bands.
